The Black MontessoriEducator's retreatJune 19-21, 2026
The school year asks everything of you. This is where you come to get it back, and then some.
Not Your Average Professional Development
Join us Juneteenth weekend for a first-of-its-kind gathering and wellness experience designed specifically for Black educators and caregivers. Over three transformative days, you'll deepen your practice, restore your energy, and step into the next school year with clarity, community, and a renewed sense of purpose.
About this Retreat
This gathering was built around a simple but radical belief: that Black educators and caregivers deserve a space to grow and to rest at the same time, in the same place. Over three days just outside Atlanta, we come together to deepen our practice, restore ourselves, and build community with people who truly understand this work. What makes this gathering different is not just what is offered, but who is offering it. Every facilitator, every wellness practitioner, and every session across the weekend is led by someone from within our community, people who are trained and experienced in what they do and who are living this work alongside us. And because professional growth deserves to be recognized, this gathering qualifies for 15 hours of professional development credit through Sarasota University.
This Is Not Another Conference
Most professional gatherings ask educators to sit down, take notes, and absorb. This one was designed around a different understanding entirely. Every session is a conversation, every facilitator is a peer, and the entire weekend is structured around the idea that the people in this room came here to be poured into, not talked at.
That matters especially for Black educators and caregivers, who have long been conditioned by systems, both professional and otherwise, to measure their worth by what they produce. To earn rest rather than simply take it. To give until there is nothing left and call that dedication. This gathering was built in direct response to that reality. Rest here is not a reward for hard work. It is part of the work itself. And being in community with people who understand that tension, who are navigating it in their own lives and classrooms, is its own form of restoration.
Come ready to participate, to be seen, and to rest without having to earn it first.
