Public schools are failing Black children, and the need for proven alternatives has never been more urgent. The BMEF is building the infrastructure to meet that moment: a growing network of trained Black Montessori educators, supported families, and strengthened programs across the United States and the Black diaspora.
That infrastructure is anchored by two flagship convenings: the annual Black Montessori Conference, bringing together educators, school leaders, and families from across the diaspora, and our annual Retreat, a dedicated space for rest, community, and professional connection for Black Montessori practitioners.
Since 2020, this work has translated into $233,416 invested directly in our community, supporting 72 educators, 63 children, and 47 programs, through standardized scholarships sized to make a real difference.

Our newly launched membership program is not only a way to support the BMEF, but also offers plenty of opportunities for connection and community as well as savings and access to exclusive resources including: Professional Development resources, our Job Board, a Members Forum, Webinars, Courses, and much more.
Volunteer
